Model: Kelly - updo
Stylist: Clara Amaguru

Kelly’s style reflects an elegant and gracious aura. The kind of style suitable for a bride or even for a prom date. Kelly has naturally long and thick relaxed hair. The back half was swept up in a cornrow while the top was curled with a flat iron and secured away with hairpins. A few pieces on the sides were spiral curled for the final touch. The style took only an hour to do and can last for up to a week if wrapped up at night.

Instant Dreadlocks

For those who cannot handle the greasy feeling of beeswax or do not have the patience to wait for months or have very thin hair, now there is a solution! With the new technique, bulk kinky hair is twisted in a two strand method with the clients hair forming twists. Over a shorter period of time, the clients hair starts to lock and blend with the commercial hair. The two intertwine giving rise to a fuller lock style. The process takes about 3 to 4 hours to do and requires 4 to 5 bags of the bulk kinky hair. Maintenance is low and one can easily style their hair. This is also a great alternative for those who are undecided about wearing dreadlocks permanently. You can take out these extensions within two months and have your own hair back! And for those with relaxed hair, finally you do not have to wait for your new growth to lock your hair. You can use this technique on relaxed or permed hair and achieve the same results.

Model: Ché
Che was traveling to Europe for a few months and wanted to wear locks but without the high maintenance it sometimes entails. With this technique, she can comfortably enjoy her trip without worrying about where and how to keep it tidy. For maintenance, she has to moisturize her hair and scalp once a week with some oil. Reflections by Locafella is an excellent remedy for this
Model: Rafael
Rafael’s dreadlocks were done using the original technique: backcombing and applying bees wax. It took 4 hours to create her beautiful locks and we used Knottyboy beeswax and the Knottyboy dred comb. For maintenance, she has to palm roll and loop it whenever needed. The hair does go through the messy phase which is part of the locking process. During this period, beeswax can be applied to tame down the frizzies and help bind the hair together.
Weaves

Model: Wendy
Wendy has a full head weave done with 2 bags of synthetic curly hair. Two colors were used and alternated to give that highlighted sassy look. It took only 2 hours to achieve this look and this can last between 2 to 3 months. This is an excellent option for someone who is trying to grow out their hair or even for someone with long hair but desiring a short hair style. The foundation of this style is a cornrow and all the client’s hair is woven underneath.

Model: Janice Yu
Janice is wearing two rows of a black weave at the back and fused blond high lights at the top. This addition of two colors gives her burgundy mane a lift and excitement. This style takes one and half hours to do and can last six to eight weeks if washed once a week. For maintenance, Janice has to use a conditioning detangling shampoo and a light oil sheen to keep the hair from getting tangled and dry.

For added contrast, 10 pieces of fusion highlights were bonded in the crown area of her head. The extensions were then razor cut to blend in with her own hair. The style took only two and a half hours to do and her hair was spiral curled with a big barrel iron for her finished look. This style could last up to two months depending on how often she washes her hair.

Model: Fortunate - Bonded weave
Stylist: Clara Amaguru

Fortunate has about an inch and a half of texturized hair. Starting from the back of her nape, wefts of Toyokalon body wave hair were bonded in alternating colors. We used one bag each of black and auburn brown hair. The last row at the top was black to blend in with her natural black hair. Her hair was then cut in short layers to give her the finished sassy look. This style can be dressed up or down depending on your wardrobe. The style took only one hour and can last up to three weeks offering a great alternative for clients with short hair.

Veronica is wearing four rows of a weave in two shades of blonde hair. Her natural hair is about 14 inches but very thin at the ends. This style gives her volume and length and lasts up to three months. Two bags of 22 inch lengths were used and layered to blend in with her own hair. It took two and a half hours to achieve this look and big spiral curls were done for a finish with a few crimped tresses. A splash of burgundy color was sprayed in for a tantalizing hue.
